Major drug bust at Henties Bay

The Namibian Police continues to pounce on the coast’s drug underworld. In the latest results of an ongoing operation, this time in Henties Bay’s Omdel suburb, drugs were found to the value of N$42 350-00 as well as more than N$43 000 in cash which is believed to be drug proceeds.
The success follows only days after similar arrests during anti-drug operations in Swakopmund’s Mondesa suburb and Walvis Bay’s Kuisebmond suburb.

A 58-year old woman, Portia Ntombikayizo Zweni, was arrested on a charge of dealing in cannabis. The suspect was found with 230 grams of cannabis and 400 suspected Mandrax tablets, with a combined value of N$ 42 300-00. Cash of N$43 270-00, believed to be proceeds from the selling of drugs, were also confiscated.
The accused appeared in the Swakopmund Magistrate court yesterday. This incident was confirmed by the police regional crime investigations coordinator for Erongo, Deputy Commissioner Erastus Iikuyu.
In another incident, also at Henties Bay on Friday a 26-year old woman was arrested after half a Mandrax tablet valued at N$50 was found in her possession.
