Man due in court for hammer-death of his girlfriend

A 29-year old man is expected to make a first appearance in the Walvis Bay magistrate’s court today for the gruesome murder of his girlfriend at their common home in Kuisebmond’s Coris Street on Wednesday.

The accused is believed to have beaten his girlfriend, age 26, to death with a hammer, and thereafter reported the matter to the Police and handed himself over.
The deceased, who was a factory worker at Hangana Seafood Processors, reportedly arrived at home from night shift work at around 05:00 on Wednesday.
Her boyfriend was waiting for her, and started arguing with her accusing her of an affair with another man. He allegedly also pushed her out of the house, but she refused to leave.
The accused then reportedly turned violent, hitting her with clenched fists and then delivered her a death blow with a hammer.
