Manica Golf Day

On Saturday, 13 October 2018, the club hosted a Betterball Medal Stableford competition sponsored by a very old sponsor, MANICA. A good field of 39 Players entered.

Weather was playing along, and great golf was played by our winners! The format was a bit new to some but after some quick thinking on scoring the winners were:

1. Johnny Gomes & Carlos De Gouveia on 51.5
2. Boel Grobbelaar & Wilma Van Der Merwe on 48
3. Emile Vilbert Snr & Emile VIlbert Jnr on 47.5

This coming Saturday the popular Bulls vs WP competition will be hosted by Gert Olivier’s and hopefully the Bulls will put up a better fight than last Saturday.

Along with all other golf courses in Namibia, our course was slope rated recently and a new handicap index will become effective on 1 November. More information on the new system will be communicated to members shortly.

On Saturday, 06 October 2018, the Walvis Bay Golf Club held its annual Walvis Bay Club Championship to determine the Champion Golfer of the year in the Club. This is one of the club’s flagship events and the turnout was substantially more than in 2017. 33 Players entered.
