The Municipality of Walvis Bay, through the Office of the Mayor, and in cooperation with the Namibian Community Trust, donated food parcels and blankets to the elderly at the Utuseb settlement on the bank of the Kuiseb River.

These food parcels contained maize meal, canned fish and other basic food items. The blankets were also much welcomed by the elderly recipients as the winter is biting this time of the year.
Cllr. Trevino Forbes, the Mayor of Walvis Bay, led the delegation who handed over the parcels and blankets. He was accompanied by fellow town councillor Cllr. Olivia Andrews, Charlene Minnaar of Namibian Community Trust, the Junior Mayor of Walvis Bay Kristine Shetunyenga, and Miss Namibia 2021 Chelsi Shikongo.
Whilst there, the delegation made most of their time and also paid a courtesy visit to the J.P. Brand School at Utuseb.
The delegation was taken on a tour of the school by senior officials TJ Knittle and Jotsti Anna. It was clear that the school buildings are in a dire need of new coat of paint.
Cllr. Forbes took it upon himself to bring a request to the com-munity at Walvis Bay for paint, accessories and time to paint the school buildings.
