Mayor spreads christmas spirit
It was a very busy week for the Mayor of Walvis Bay, Alderman Immanuel Wilfried, spreading Christmas cheer and spirit as “it is the season for giving.
On Monday the Mayor made a donation to shack fire victims of food to the value of approximately N$16 500 through the Mayoral Relief Fund and a good amount of second hand clothes donated by good samaritans.
The Mayor was then present at the handover of a showhouse on Tuesday in Kuisebmond. The house was built by Fabreca Construction and handed over to Abraham Shitaleni and his family, who now have a proper roof over their head.
The spirit of giving continued on Wednesday when Wilfried delivered Christmas parcels to an amount of 1082 senior citizens in Erongo region, making visits to the town hall, Kuisebmond Community Hall and Narraville Community Hall.
“Dear all, kindly receive this package from council. Although small, it is my hope that it will make a difference to you and your family in your time of need. In the same breath I would like to call on all residents to be extra vigilant when cooking and when caring for little children in order to minimise the risk of a fire,” commented Mayor Wilfried during the delivering of parcels.
