Miss Namibia ‘21 a Walvis Bay’ite

The community of Walvis Bay has even more reason to be proud of Miss Namibia 2021, Chelsi Shikongo. She hails from the harbour town.

Shikongo was crowned Miss Namibia on Saturday night during an event at the Windhoek Country Club to which spectators could link online by Zoom.
Shikongo attended school at the Kuisebmond Secondary School between 2010 and 2014.
Shikongo knew from a very young age that she wants to enter the modelling profession, and that she can make a difference living out this passion.
She started her career as a model at LC’s Models in Walvis Bay in 2010 and has started a career as international model in 2016, and has been on the catwalks of Milan and Singapore.

Shikongo speaks four languages, Afrikaans, English, Portuguese and German.
Apart from her career as fashion model, Shikongo also founded “I Can Say No”, an empowerment movement through which she as activist campaigns for inclusive education. She also finds time in her busy schedule as entertainer, specialising as a comedian.
She was overwhelmed by her crowning on Saturday night and says she could not wait to represent Namibia with the prestigious title of Miss Namibia 2021.
Decisions are also pending whether Shikongo would be representing Namibia in either the Miss World or Miss Universe competition later this year.
