Missing stop sign cause of collision in Walvis Bay

The extreme danger missing road signs pose to motorists have been demonstrated on Friday night, when two cars collided on the corner of Theo-Ben Gurirab Avenue and 7th Road supposedly after one vehicle drove over an intersection where a stop sign was missing. The accident occurred shortly before 21:00. One person was injured.

Namib times has been reporting in recent months over missing road traffic signs at various intersections in Walvis Bay. The intersection where the accident occurred was not mentioned in these reports, but on Friday night at the scene it was discovered the road sign was missing from its pole. The diagonal sign however, contained a brand new stop sign.
