The days of worrying about where to go for an outing are now over because Moonlight Resort near Swakopmund has re-opened with new ownership and affordable prices. The sunny resort is breath-taking.

The resort re-opened last year. For the past 3-4 years, the resort was closed and the new owner Pienaar Schalk Van Wyk took over last year. The place was up and running by November and saw a lot of guests who were astonished by the new look. The resort Manager of Moonlight Resort, Elna Verhoef said for the past few months a lot of renovation and refurbishment has been taking place. The Old Rusty Bistro and Pub, the Jetty Bar, Conference Hall, swimming pool and accommodation is all set even though the team is still planning to have camping grounds, tennis and basketball courts; and the squash court ready.
There are plenty braai spots, all you should do is show up with your braai packs and cold drinks or you can choose to eat from the restaurant. This weekend the resort hosts a Moroccan evening with about four different chefs preparing world class dishes. A special treat on the menu is the delicious Butter Chicken. The establishment has 23 living units consisting of self-catering, standard and up-graded rooms, and all rooms will be equipped with Netflix.
“Our focus point is on catering for schools because we have a passion for working with children, family functions, senior citizens and groups who would want to come for team building or so on, we have also had children’s parties here by the swimming pool. This is the perfect place for everyone”, said Verhoef. On 27 July the resort will be hosting the ‘Moonlight Got Talent’ show, where everyone is invited to register and there are great prizes up for grabs. In the near future the resort will offer shuttle services between Swakopmund and Moonlight Resort for those who do not have transport or those who feel they do not want to drive. Opening hours are from 10:00 till late, Monday to Sunday. “The security here is very good and it is very safe here”, added Verhoef. The resort is approximately 15 km from Swakopmund.
