Namibia lost opening match

The FNB Namibia Over 50s’ Namibian Invitational team lost their first match against Pakistan at the Over 50’s Cricket World Cup under way in Cape Town South Africa.

Namibia, making its debut in the tournament was bowled all out for 85 runs as Pakistan won the game by 177 runs after striking out 262/8 in its allowed 45 overs. Dee Thakur was Namibia’s leading bowler (3/19 in 9 over’s), Ashley Griffiths (2/52 in 9), Trevor Britten (2/79 in 9) and Captain Lennie Louw (0/35 in 7).
