Namibia makes end to winter time
Farewell winter time. Namibians at 02:00 on Sunday will adjust their watches forward by one hour from winter time to summer time. This would be the last time to do so, as Namibia officially abolished winter time and would in the future stay at summer time which is Greenwich Mean Time (GMT+2).
The majority of Namibians in 2016 favoured summer time as the standard time for the country throughout the year and a bill was passed by both Houses of Parliament recently to replace the current Namibian Time Act which made provision since 1994 for summer time and winter time.
