Namibia stuns Senegal

The 2015 COSAFA Cup champions the Namibian Brave Warriors stunned the West African guest nation Senegal, at the Issac Wolfson Stadium in Nelson Mandela Bay on Wednesday

Brave Warriors ranked 111 in the world and 26 in Africa got their 2021 COSAFA Cup group B campaign off to a positive start with a 2-1 victory against the number one team in Africa, Senegal that is ranked 22nd in the world.

The Brave Warriors hit the front thanks to an early goal for Marcel Papama but Senegal equalizes straight away to level the score 1-1 at half time.

Brave Warriors striker, Elmo Kambindu scored the winning in the 50th minute of the game to put Namibia on top of group B.

In the other group B game six-time champions of the COSAFA Cup Zimbabwe and Mozambique played to a 0-0 draw.

The Brave Warriors will next face Zimbabwe on Sunday, 11 July, for their second Group B clash.
