Namibians did their part to bust Covid-19 second wave
Namibia’s Head of State Dr. Hage Geingob commended Namibians and visitors currently in the country for doing their part to overcome the country’s Covid-19 second wave.
Although not denying there were the few rotten apples who did not comply or cooperate, the President said unity, vigilance and discipline were exercised by citizens and that lead to a drastic decrease in Covid cases.
According to President Geingob, Cabinet begun planning work for the authorities to unroll the Covid-19 vaccine once it is delivered.
Namibia is part of the Africa Covid-19 vaccine procurement cluster (COVAX) to obtain the Covid-19 vaccine and is also working with a number of partner countries to further procure enough vaccines.
The most vulnerable Namibians will be first prioritised for the vaccine. The include Covid-19 frontline workers, health workers, those dealing with Covid-burials and people with health issues that makes them susceptible to Covid-19.
