NASP Year End Shoot
On Saturday, 24 November 2018, 73 archers (44 juniors and 29 senior archers) got together on the St George’s Field up against each other for the last NASP shoot of the year.
There was lovely cool cloud cover while setting up the range on Friday afternoon, and after that an early morning chill at registration time on Saturday. The day later turned extremely hot. There were snacks and drinks from the Tuck Shop, which kept energy levels high and prevented spirits to fall.
The archers ranging from 4th graders to 12 graders shoot three Bull’s Eye rounds and one 3D Animal round.

After the prize giving, a minute of silence was devoted to Mr Rudi Woortman, whom many see as the driving force and founder of NASP Namibia. It was his wish that many children’s lives get change one arrow at a time.
This latest shoot was a tribute to this, with many new archers participating for the first time at a national level. 73 archers from 13 schools/clubs attended the event even with exam stress and end-of-year pressure on everyone’s shoulders.
A huge thank you to the parents who drive their children all over the country to get exposure and to the Afro Pumps team who are always willing to set up and take down the range. It is really appreciated.
We are all looking forward to the NASP season starting on 19 January 2019 in Keetmanshoop in preparation for the All Stars shoot in SA from 2 – 4 May 2019.
