National Archery Results

On Saturday, 13 May 2017, 23 archers participated in Luderitz at the Luderitz Archery Club shoot.
The archers were challenged by the weather – strong winds made it impossible for them to shoot outside.
Luckily everything was well thought out, and plan b could very quickly be implemented.
We moved the event indoors, where the competition commenced.
Yet, seeing the end results, the archers managed it brilliantly. Early morning the archers and parents could enjoy coffee, hot chocolate and tea with boerewors rolls, jaffels and some nice cupcakes for those with a sweet tooth.
Comfortably seated out off the wind, parents and spectators could enjoy the sight of flying arrows as the archers put their practice to the test.
Everyone shot 3 bulls eye rounds and, for the first time in Namibian history, we were the first school/organization to have 3D animals as part of our score system which we included with one rotational round on the various 3D targets.
Archers were participating in different categories. Junior Boys and Junior Girls, as well as Senior Boys and Senior Girls shot in the category of Bulls-Eye target archery.
The 3D Animal Target round consisted of all the archers participating together, and the top 3 boys, as well as the top 3 girls received medals and cash prizes.
We then also had prizes for the Overall winners of the day.
Prize giving commenced and the top archers received their well earned medals. Thanks to all the sponsors, we could give these archers, who travelled from far, not only medals, but also cash prizes to congratulate them.
All 1st place archers each walked away with N$ 300.00, 2nd place archers each received N$150.00 and 3rd place archers each got N$ 100.00
