The Minister of Sport, Youth and National Services appointed nine sport commissioners to spearhead the country’s sport development for the next three years.
When announcing the new Sport Commissioners, Minister Erastus Uutoni said at the announcing ceremony event in Windhoek that the commissioners come from different backgrounds varying from sports management, legal, and human resources to address a variety of sports.
Uutoni encouraged the new commissioners to draw inspiration from what the country has achieved in sports, despite the challenges and that they need to work hard and serve the country and leave the in house fighting with each other as they have a mandate on your shoulders.
Joel Mathews has been re-appointed as the chairperson of the Namibia Sports Commission for the next three years with Erica Beukes from the Schools Sports Union and Thomas Mbeeli, a former rugby executive member also retained their positions.
