No confidence in RDP’s Nambinga
In a press statement made on Saturday, the National Executive Committee of the Rally for Democracy and Progress (RDP) informs of a reached consensus on a Motion of No Confidence against RDP President, Jeremiah Nambinga.
The committee is said to have concluded with this consensus after careful consideration and discussion, and is committed to ensure all party obligations run smoothly. The statement reads as follows:
“We have called to inform you and the public at large that today, Saturday 12 August 2017, the National Executive Committee (NEC) of the Rally for Democracy and Progress (RDP) has deliberated on issues hampering progress in the RDP.
We wish to affirm to you our commitment to uphold our original founding values, principles of unity, democracy, freedom, integrity, justice and social progress. In view of this, and after a painstaking discussion, the NEC has reached a consensus on a Motion of No Confidence against the President of RDP, Comrade Jeremiah Nambinga.
We will ensure that all the party constitutional obligations are precisely followed to guarantee the smooth running of the party in the interim, until the holding of the next Central Committee Meeting.
As for the RDP membership, our supporters and sympathizers at large, we wish to assure them our undivided commitment to forge ahead with the mandate of the party, which is to mobilise the masses to support the RDP to realise the dreams, aspirations and expectations of the Namibian people.”
