“No reason for Complacency”

We have been lucky, up to now, but not anymore. The first two cases of Coronavirus have been reported in Namibia this weekend. Yes, only two, and in Windhoek, but still this is no reason for complacency here at the coast.

Who were the passengers on the plane sitting near the infected Romanian tourists? Who came in contact with them in the queue at customs control or while waiting for their luggage? Who drove the cab to take them to their guest-house in Windhoek?
How many of those people they were in contact with, travel in different directions in the country, stays in guesthouses, hotels, dines in restaurants or re-connects with family?
This is at present unfathomable. So, let’s just all be careful not to contract it, and inadvertently pass it on to our parents, grandparents and vulnerable people, like those living with HIV.
