NSMA at Destiny 2018
On 26 September a team representing Namibian Sport Martial Arts took on the Journey to attend Destiny in Stellenbosch, Western Cape, South Africa.
The event hosted various disciplines in Sport Martial Arts like, Points Fighting, Continuous Fighting, (Both light Contact), Full Contact Fighting, MMA, Grappling, Breaking, Traditional Kata, Weapons Kata, Open Kata, Open Weapons Kata, Traditional Kumite as well as the AA division of Black Belt fighters from the international circuit.
The team from Namibia consisted of 12 fighters from the age group from 8 years old to the oldest of 47 years of age and was coached by Sensei Dorothy Bachmann, assisted by Suzanne van Zyl as Physiotherapist and Manfred Dedekind the President of NSMA Walvis Bay also judged at the tournament.
The athletes held our name high with spectacular displays of skills and discipline, both on and off the Tatamis. A special thank you also to the support team, Suzanne van Zyl and Lenniveve Dedekind who helped with ensuring all ran smoothly and that all the athletes were always ready.
