Pension for December already paid in November

Not a bonus or windfall – spend the money wisely warns Ministry

Pensioners and beneficiaries of disability grants will receive a double payment in November to also cover December, the Ministry of Poverty Eradication and Social Welfare said in a statement over the weekend.
The double payment is for November and December. The Minis-try urged in a statement for recipients not to view this double payment as a bonus, or a windfall, but to bear in mind this is a normal pay out to cover for the expenses towards their welfare for the month of December.
The statement reads: “The Ministry of Poverty Eradication and Social Welfare informs all beneficiaries of old age- and disability grants that as per usual practice towards the end of the year, the Ministry will be affecting double payment in November 2018 for the grant recipients for the month of November and December 2018 respectively.
For the month of November 2018, all eligible beneficiaries will receive a once-off grant of N$2500 (which include N$1 250-00 grant for the month of November 2018, and N$1250 grant for the month of December 2018.)
From the month of January 2019 onward, the eligible beneficiaries will receive their normal N$1,250 per month.
The Ministry of Poverty Eradication and Social Welfare urges all beneficiaries to ensure that these grants are used for the welfare of the beneficiaries and their families.”
