Pescanova and Novanam Monthly Medal

A field of 34 golfers took to the fairways, despite the east wind that was cooking up a storm for the Pescanova/ Novanam Monthly Medal Competition held on Saturday 25 May at the Rossmund Golf course.

Fortunately the weather conditions settled down and the guys/gals played some excellent golf – as always it was great to see Michael Tordesillas out there enjoying the day.
Winners: – Overall: Chris Heunis 72 nett in the A Division, Helmut Njendja 73 nett in the B Division, Jurie Engelbrecht 70 nett in the C Division, Tienie van Rensburg 73 nett.
Ladies: Wilna Bredenhann 72 nett, Junior: Jonathan Mather 78nett.
Well played to all and thanks to the Walvis Bay and Henties Bay golfers for joining us in celebrate Africa Day.

The Pro Shop sponsored golf day were played on Wednesday 22 May at the Rossmund Golf course – thanks Marco for always being there when needed. As always on a Wednesday there was some good vibes in the clubhouse and some great laughs.
Cashbox van Wyk had the longest day – we won’t mention the score nor the comments. I am sure you can work them out for yourselves. 18-hole Winner was Johnny Flook with 37 points followed by Willie van Zyl on 35 points winners on a count-out.
The 9-hole prize was also secured by way of a count out with Gert Breedt coming out tops with 17 points over the back nine – we won’t talk about the front nine.
Thoughts for the week: “Give me golf clubs, fresh air and a beautiful partner, and you can keep my golf clubs and the fresh air.” “Too many golfers grip the club at address like they were trying to choke something to death.”

Saturday 1 June is the Bank Windhoek Golf Day to be played in conjunction with an International Pairs Qualifier so Betterball Stableford – round up your partner and your best golf – you could get to the finals and stand a chance to win a trip to Portugal all expenses paid.
