Pro-Ed Archers shine at WHS

Pro-Ed Archers participated at the second National Archery in the Schools Program in Namibia (NASP) Ranking Shoot hosted on Saturday, 27 February for the first time by Windhoek High School (WHS) at their sports field Vegkop.

Archery learners are Gustav Holz the Junior Boys overall winner, Danya Laas second overall in the Junior Girls division and Alyssa van Zijl the Senior Girls overall winner.
After registration, arrows filled the butts as 122 archers from 12 schools and clubs competed against each other. Al-though no spectators were allowed, the spirit of all the archers and officials were high.
They were split into 3 groups with 3.2m for each target. NASP archers completed two Bulls Eye Rounds and one 3D Animal Round. The AAG (Adult Archery Group) completed 1 of each.
WHS would like to thank all the schools, parents and archers who participated and everyone who made this shoot possible and a great success. Thank you to all the BAI’s (Basic Archery Instructors) who spent his or her Saturday in the sun making sure everyone is safe.
NASP Namibia would also like to inform that due to Covid-19 we will not be able to do the NASP Africa Tournament (NAT) in May. We would like all the countries to participate, and the only way that might be possible, is if we postpone it until December 2021.
Therefore, NASP decided to have the Team Selection on 11 September, together with the NASP Namibia Nationals. The National and Development Teams will be announced after the Nationals. Further info and dates will be communicated.
