Regional Shooting Competition

During the weekend of 24 to 25 August the NHRSA hosted the 5th leg of their Regional Competition on the farm of Jan Keyser and Schützen Verein in Tsumeb.
On the afternoon of Friday, the 24th the .223 class competition took place, each shooter was handed a dropper and the choice of any position during the course, making use of the dropper.
On Saturday, the 25th, it was the open competition; the wind was again an ever present factor which had to be taken into account with every shot. The course consisted of shooting at a Steenbok (2 shots) and Gemsbok (3 shots) targets while kneeling at a hay bale; Rooibok shooting from a standing position using a dropper tripod; gongs from a sitting position, making use of pallets and shooting bag, second gong course was shooting over a 200L empty drum also making use of a shooting bag; shooting at a Baboon freehand from a standing position and a Kudu while standing and using long synthetic sticks.
During the ceremony on Saturday evening the winners in the different classes were announced:

The 6th leg of the Regional Competitions is to be hosted on the 29th of September in Otjiwarongo.
