Rossmund Goes Pink

The Rossmund Ladies Section decided to ring in the changes by hosting a “Pink Ball” Golf Competition – the format was a “Betterball Foursomes “ – this offers a great opportunity for non-golfers as well as the “pros” to enjoy a day out in the fresh air.

The competition attracted a field of 42 players of all ages – the youngest being 9 year old Monet Kok. Each team was issued with a “pink” ball at registration which had to be returned with their score-card in order to qualify for double scores on certain holes.
Lost balls – only three surprisingly enough – resulted in a fine and those golfers not adhering to the rules and/or not sporting a bit of pink were also urged by Vice Captain George Murasiki to donate a few dollars.
All in all a great day was had by everyone – entering into the spirit of the day – this was to have fun. Needless to say the clubhouse was a buzz for prize-giving.
Prizes for the Pinkest Players went to Gisela Verbucheln and Miguel Tordesillas; the team of I. Shikongo and H. Abrahams took nearest to the pin on Number 12 whilst Number 7’s prize went to the T. De Wet and M. Ludwig partnership via a lucky draw due to the pin having been returned to the clubhouse before all the field had passed by!
Winners:
Mom Dina and Daughter
Doulaine Holtzhausen 46 pts;
Runners-up: Lynne (Ladies Cpt) and George Murasiki (V-Cpt) 42 pts;
3rd Place: Dad Helmut & Son Helmut
Ndjendja 39 pts.
Lynne thanked all the players, those who provided the prizes and the Rossmund Ladies for a tournament well played.
