Roswitha Deetlefs loses battle against cancer

Friends and family of Walvis Bay resident Roswitha Deetlefs are still coming to terms with her passing this weekend. 32 year-old Deetlefs lost the battle against cancer. She was an inspiration to many as she attempted to defeat the disease naturally and continuously remained positive.

Deetlefs leaves behind her husband Willi and one year-old daughter Leila. She was actively involved at the well-known Probst Bakery in Walvis Bay.
After being diagnosed with stage 4 breast cancer in December 2016, Deetlefs initially underwent Chemotherapy with the hope of curing the disease. After one session she said it made her feel worse and sick and it was not an answer. “I have decided to go a different route, just so that I can still be strong and enjoy the time with my Family. I am doing it naturally.”
Deetlefs started an online GoFundMe campaign and quickly got a lot of support, but it was too late. The cancer had spread throughout her body. Our sincere condolences to the family.
