Rotary Club takes Lead

The Swakopmund Football Club was the venue for the Rotary Fun Day. The event offered a variety of stalls selling food and other items. A creche, treasure hunt and obstacle course added to the fun with great activities for both young and old.
Opening the event, was the Mondesa Youth Opportunities (MYO) marimba group that aired a variety of upbeat medleys.
Companies such as Steckels Toyota, VW Autohaus and Nissan dis-played the latest on the car market treating visitors to the event with special models and promotions. The inside parking was arrayed with Harley-Davidson motorbikes, with many of the riders winning prizes in different categories.
On the periphery, Camel rides took enthusiasts in turns around the field, although the much-anticipated hot air balloon was a no show.
A walk through the tent displayed a Fashion show and Pole dancing that wowed the audience. A sterling effort by Swakopmund’s Rotarians certainly proved worthwhile as they endeavour to continue the work they do so evidently in our community.
Totals of amounts raised were not available at time of going to press, however the Rotary Club is grateful to all who made this event a success.
