Seawork issued statement

Seawork yesterday issued a statement in which they expressed condolences over the death of one of their employees, Matheus Hausiku, who was killed in the fire on Saturday morning.

The full statement reads: On Saturday morning, 17 August, Seawork’s motor fishing vessel ‘Ocean Tide’ caught fire while moored at the Seawork quay, where it was undergoing a refit. The exact cause of the fire is yet to be confirmed and is subject to forensic investigation.
On behalf of Seawork Fish Processors (Pty) Ltd and our staff, we would like to express our sincere sympathies and condolences to the family and loved ones of our colleague, brother and friend Matheus Hausiku, who tragically lost his life during the incident. Matheus worked for Seawork for thirteen years and will live on in our memories forever.
At this point in time we are not able to provide any further comments on the incident until the necessary investigations are concluded”.
