SFC promoted

Swakopmund Football Club (FC) was promoted to the Southern Stream First Division (SSFD) on Sunday, after they ended in the top three of a five-team mini-league.

 

Swakopmund FC collected five points on the first day of the mini-league that was played at the Vineta and Swakopmund stadiums.

Home team and Erongo regional winners, Swakopmund FC, hammered Omaheke regional winners Tura Cosmos 9-1, draw 2-2 against Dates Eleven and Hardap Correctional Facility respectively.

Sunday’s games between Swakopmund FC and Eleven Champions, as well as Tura Cosmos and Dates Eleven and Eleven Champions and Hardap Correctional Facility, were not played as they would not have impacted on the promotion battle.

In Windhoek was the kicked off  the much anticipated Skorpion Zinc Women Super League with the Namib Daughters from Swakopmund won their first game as they beat the Girls Football Academy 2-0 with Ignacia Haoses scored a brace and Vries Michane of Namib Daughters was named the Lady of the match.
