Sports day raises funds for animals

Indongo Toyota Walvis Bay hosted a sports day to raise funds for the SPCA at the Atlantis Sports field in Walvis Bay.

The fun day that was held on Saturday, 30 October, raised an amount of N$18 600. Sixteen four-man teams and four two-man teams competed in series of challenges like rolling tyres, changing a car tyre, bear crawling, rope jumping and some climbing challenges.
Team Fantastic Four (Amos Feris, Marcello Bampton, Jason Bampton and Haven Bampton) clinched first place and in second place was the Local Disappointments sponsored by Skeleton Coast Launching (Cyla Janse van Rensburg, Derik Janse van Rensburg, Robert Glover and Jaco van Ryn). Walvis Bay Roundtable 36 (Monolito du Toit, Brian Langer, Waldo Lassen and Joppie Kotze) took third place.
The two ladies from Spraytech Sherbet, Michelle von Stein and Emilia Tagliaferri, were the two persons team champions.
The new chairperson of the Walvis Bay SPCA, Quinton van Rooyen expressed his gratitude towards the organisers and thanked everyone who participated and made this day possible. “It is immensely appreciated.”
