SPS receives netball balls and bibs

The First National Bank (FNB) in Swakopmund put a smile on the faces of the netball girls from Swakopmund Primary School (SPS) last week when they donated a number of netball balls and bibs towards the netball teams.

The team received six netball balls and bibs for the U/7, 8, 10, 11, 12 and 13 respectively, from the FNB staff members on Friday 12 July at the netball court of their school. According to Mrs. Subes, the Coach for U/9, 11, 12, 13 and 14, the U/13 girls recently took first place in the Netball League under the Swakopmund Pool and will be competing against two schools from Walvis Bay and Pro-Ed Academy in the finals this week Wednesday, 17 July from 14:00 at the Walvis Bay Primary School netball courts.
“I am very excited that my team made it to the finals this year. This is the first time after so many years to reach the finals. My girls made me and the school proud and they are the strongest team I have”, said Subes. The U/13 team which will represent the Swakopmund Pool consist of Grace Tuahepa-Goal Attack, Zoë Blaauw-Goal Shooter, Letishea Beukes- Wing Attack, Bree-Ann Nell-Centre, and Candle Bam -Wing Defence, Queen Ngoana is the Goal Keeper and the Goal Defence is Jasmine Izaks. “We are very thankful to FNB to have donated this items to our netball team and we look forward to more sponsors because out teams do not have an attire. This donation came just at the right time”, Subes added.
