Spur 5-over,8-a-side champs

The Spur Social Cricket Team is the winner of the annual 5-over, 8-a-side Hickory Creek Spur Social Cricket Tournament after beating Walvis Bay Striker with 28 runs in the final.

The tournament was organised and hosted by the Junior Coastal Cricket Academy in Walvis Bay at the cricket oval. Six social teams competed. The teams that participated in the tournament were Fuel Pump Repair Warriors, Spur, Play Time Development Team, Walvis Bay Strikers, Namibian Radio Services Agency and PPS Knights are all players from the harbour town.
The Annual T20 Coastal Social Cricket League will come to life tomorrow Saturday 15 June at the Sparta oval in Walvis Bay.
Spur Walvis Bay also known as Hickory Creek Spur, will be the main sponsor of the well-established T20 League. Spur Walvis Bay confirmed their commitment toward developing the game of cricket in the coastal community back in 2017.
The Spur T20 league will once again be hosted by JCCA under leadership of Riaan Lottering and Nolene Winborn. Hickory Creek Spur Walvis Bay is fully committed to ensure the wellbeing of cricket in the coastal community and their investment in the game of cricket is to improve and assist and taking the game to the youth as part of their future.
The teams that participated in the tournament were Fuel Pump Repair Warriors, Spur, Play Time Development Team, Walvis Bay Strikers, Namibian Radio Services Agency, PPS Knights from the harbour town and Khomasdal Titans from Windhoek will battle it out on Saturdays and Sundays with the final to be played on 11 August.
The Namibian National Cricket team will play a T20 cricket game against the Multiply Titans from South Africa. The game will take place on 28 June at 13:30 on the Sparta cricket oval in the harbour town.
The community are invited to come and support the Namibian team. Entrance will be free of charge for all.
