Spur T20 league

The Annual Hickory Creek Spur T20 Coastal Social Cricket League came to life the past weekend at the Sparta Oval in Walvis Bay.

The teams that registered for the social league are Fuel Pump Repair Warriors (FPRW), Spur, Play Time Development Team (PTDR), Walvis Bay Strikers (WBS), Namibian Radio Services Agency (NRSA) and PPS Knights (PPSK) from the harbour town and Khomasdal Titans (KT) from Windhoek will battle it out on from Saturdays 15 June to Sunday 11 August.
Six of the seven social teams participating in the league were in actions over the weekend in three games at the Sparta oval.
The first and only game on Saturday, NRSA beat FPRW with 59 runs. FPRW won the toss and send NRSA in to bat first. NRSA made 165 runs in the 20 over in the first innings. In the second inning FPRW were all out in just 16.4 overs with only 106 runs on the score board.
On Sunday morning Walvis Bay Strikers took on PPSK. WBS won the toss and decided to bat first and after 20 over they scored 162 runs for 5 wickets in the first inning. PPS Knight were all out for 152 runs after 19.4 overs that saw WBS won the game with 10 runs.
The final game of the weekend saw Spur beat PTDT with 8 wickets. PTDT won the toss and decide to bat first. They were all out for 112 runs and Spurs reply was 116 runs for 2 wickets in just 7.5 overs.
This coming weekend will saw PPSK and Spurs take on KT at 10:00 and 14:00 respectively on Saturday on the Sparta Oval and on Sunday NRSA and FPRW will play against KT also on the Sparta Oval at 08:00 and 12:00 respectively. Entrance for all the games is free and the community are invited to come and support the teams.
On Friday 28 June the Namibian National Cricket team will play a T20 cricket game against the Multiply Titans from South Africa at 13:30 on the Sparta cricket oval in Walvis Bay.
The community are invited to come and support the Namibian team. Entrance will be free for all.
