Staff overhaul planned for Walvis Bay municipality

The management committee of the Walvis Bay Town Council is deliberating options to increase efficiency and the level of service delivery of employees of the municipality of Walvis Bay.

At the most recent monthly council meeting, Cllr Buddy Bramwell of the Joint Walvis Bay Residents Association (JWRA) tabled a motion, calling for an extensive overhaul of the system of how work gets done by the approximately 515 municipal staff members.
The fact that this exercise would cost the municipality money prompted council to refer the motion to the management committee.
Overhauling the system would include a new strategic plan for the municipality, a performance management system, a review of all positions and to see if every employee is fit for the position he or she currently occupies.
