Stoning of a passing vehicle at Arandis
Man with a mental health disorder behind the incident – not robbers
The driver of a vehicle on the B2 highway near Arandis got the fright of his life earlier this week, when a man threw a stone at his moving vehicle. The stone entered the vehicle’s windscreen, narrowly missing the man behind the steering wheel. Significant damage was caused and the victim is thankful he could retain control of the vehicle.
Soon rumours started to circulate warning motorists that unknown people are targeting passing motorists by throwing large stone at them, hoping to cause an accident.
It was confirmed in the meantime the person who threw the stone at the vehicle was apprehended and is believed to be suffering from mental illness. The incident is regarded as once-off.
