Strange sighting: Zebra drowns in pool at smallholding

A young, male Zebra was found dead yesterday morning in a pool on the smallholding Hof-Holstein along the Swakop-River.

“This is the first time in all the years I live here, that I’ve seen a Zebra here,” said the tenant Peter Ermann to namib times. He believes the animal drowned in the pool either on Sunday evening or yesterday morning. He notified the Municipality who in turn called the Ministry of Environment and Tourism to collect the carcass.
According to Ermann he regularly spots springbucks in the area and sometimes hyena. Hof-Holstein is in close proximity to the Namib-Naukluft Park.
