Two boys, aged eleven and twelve, were arrested on Friday after allegedly trying to sexually assault a ten-year-old boy with a 500ml cool drink bottle. The incident shocked the Narraville community and sparked renewed concerns over the high incidences of sexual assault of minors.
The suspects were reportedly playing with the victim in Narraville, Namib street, on Thursday afternoon, when they grabbed him and the one boy held the victims legs while the other boy was trying to penetrate his anus with the bottle.
The matter was reported to the police the next day. The victim was taken to Walvis Bay State Hospital for a medical examination.
The accused minor boys were released into the care of their parents after the arrest, and appeared in Walvis Bay magistrate court yesterday.
