Swakopmund airport to be relocated North of town

Swakopmund’s new structure plan will make provision for the total relocation of the Swakopmund aerodrome to a location north of the town’s boundaries. Although the new structure plan makes provision for that, the town’s public need to be consulted as part of a compulsory public consultation process.
According to council documents, the relocation will entail an entirely new airport facility complete with new runways, air traffic control tower, air-craft hangars, commercial buildings and a terminal building.
