Swakopmund Beach Management Project in progress

A Beach Management Project with the aim to create a flat, maintainable and accessible beach area for the general public for beach activities is in progress at Swakopmund on the stretch of beach between Nord Strand and the well-known volleyball area close to where the “Fork & Nice” food truck is situated.

The Municipality of Swakopmund urges the public to stay clear of this area for the duration of the project, which will take about two weeks.
Beach sand is shifted for-wards towards the sea, the beach area is flattened, and sand is removed from the rock groin to prevent sea-water and sand washing onto the pedestrian walk-ways and grass.
