Swakopmund mayor calls for calm after “call” for people to occupy empty mass houses

Payment dispute between main contractor and sub-contractors the reason for empty houses

Swakopmund’s mayor Nehemia Solomon called upon community members not to pay heed to calls to occupy mass houses which have not yet been allocated to their future owners. The mayor responded to social media messages in recent days where Affirmative Re-positioning leader Job Amupanda allegedly called on people to occupy all empty mass houses in Swakopmund and Windhoek.

“Reject and disengage yourself from any illegal actions like invading empty land or houses”, was the mayor’s request…..
