Swakopmund Town Council announces completion of upgraded streets

The Swakopmund Town Council prioritised the upgrading of streets around schools late last year, and are pleased to announce the completion of the upgrading of Kwikstertjie Street, Suikerbekke Street and Mossie Lane around Atlantic High School in their Planning/Development/Construction and Maintenance of the Road Project.

Problem areas were determined and an assessment of the condition of the town’s street infrastructure was included in the Integrated Infrastructure Master Plan in 2020. The town council appreciates the public’s assistance in reporting pothole and deterioration of roads to their Works Section as it enables the council to be proactive and by doing so avoid rising costs. The public is urged to keep on reporting problem areas by providing the street name, area and photos. Because of tight schedules, higher priority areas are first attended to.
