Swimming Championships set new records
22 records in total were broken at the recent Namibia National Swimming Championships 2018 held in Swakopmund over the weekend.
The championships which took place at the Cube Swimming pool began Thurs-day last week. Swimmers ranging from 6 years -60 years participated from clubs hailing from Windhoek, Oranjemund and Swakopmund. The clubs included Aqua Swimming Club, Dolphin’s Swimming Club, Marlins, NSA, Oranjemund Sandsharks & Swakopmund Swimming Club.
Joanne Liebenberg broke the 1500 m Freestyle NASU record. In addition, Mikah Burger broke 3 records; the 200m and 400m individual medley, as well as the 200m backstroke short course record. An exciting 7 records were also broken by Jose Canjulo.
