Taxi Driver finds abandoned new born

A new-born baby girl wrapped in a blanket next to a dustbin was discovered by a Taxi driver earlier this week.

The taxi driver picked up a child for school at 06:45 on Tuesday morning in Tulinawa, Swakopmund when he found the baby laying next to a dustbin in the yard. The man reported the situation to the Police.
According to Detective Chief Inspector Daniel Gurirab of Nampol, the baby was alive and is now in a stable condition. The baby was admitted in Swakopmund State Hospital for observation. A criminal case of child abandonment was opened and is under investigation with the Gender Based Violence Protection Sub-Division-Erongo Region.
