Two of Namibia’s best known accommodation establishments, Ngandu at Sea at Walvis Bay and the Ngandu Safari Lodge at Rundu, will be managed by BON Hotels as of 1 July this year.

The Ngandu establishments was started in the 1990’s by Mr Oswald Theart and his wife Corry and under their hands grew to two leading accommodation and conferencing facilities.
The word Ngandu means crocodile in Kavango.

Mr Theart was diagnosed with Progressive Autoimmune Encephalopathy a few years ago and for these new circumstances left them no other option than to relocate to Swakopmund.
It became ever more challenging for Mrs Theart to manage the Ngandu At Sea at Walvis Bay and Ngandu Safari Lodge at Rundu effectively and they decided to hand over management services to BON Hotels. Two of their children are also established in their own careers and could not take over management of the establishment. Their daughter is still studying and could thus also not assist in this regards. The decision was made to enter into a management agreement with BON Hotels.
Bon Hotels already operates the BON Hotel Swakopmund at The Dome Swakopmund and the Group is immensely excited about adding Ngandu At Sea and Ngandu Safari Lodge to their portfolio. Apart from Namibia, BON Hotels operates hotels in South Africa, Nigeria and Ethiopia.
