The Oom Calie yellow ball competition

The Oom Calie yellow ball competition sponsored by Concord Plant and Crane Hire was a great hit and the format of only 18 holes on the day was accepted by all 54 players.

A shotgun start saw all teams off at the same time and the yellow ball [jip a real yellow ball] put additional pressure on all those who had it on the tee box. However some teams managed to hold it all together and after all the dust had settled it was Frans and Justine Grobler and Carlos de Gouvia who came out on top with a very good 125 points
Nardo Sardinha [who is now featuring each week amongst the winners], Wynand Moller and Roche Pitout were second on 121 points. The third, fourth and fifth places were decided on a count out and it was Morne FRux, Thomas Wolff and Stefan Jacksh, from Johnny Borges, Dduane Saunders and Jason Barnard.
Fifth place went to Boel Grobelaar, Pieter Fox and Deville Dreyer. The most golf prize went to Eddie van Wyk, Willie van Zyl and Dawn Dippenaar.
Two clubs on the day went to Andre Burger, Kurt Brits, Pieter Fox, Jonas Niilenge, Oom Pikke Champion and Willie Venter senior.
Closest to the pins were won by Anton van Rensburg, Andre Burger and Shane Westerdale. Johnny Truter was on hand to hand over the prizes and to the appreciation of all present he indicated that they will sponsor again next year.
The past weekend we had a lady sponsor for the first time in a while, Ane Nonimous. Thanks to her for late sponsorship. The format was bogey plus and winning the round on an excellent +5 was Dannie van Antwerpen. Johnny Borgers was second with +4 and Wynand Breytenbach was third on +3 and forth was won on a count out by Peet Poggenpoel on +2.
