The search for Husab robbers continues
The search for two former employees of the Husab Mine who are suspects in a robbery of the mine’s paymaster last week is still ongoing.
The search for the two suspects is still ongoing as NamPol have not yet apprehended or manage to catch the suspects. The police declined a request last week from namib times to obtain the names of the suspects, in order for the public to assist to locate them.
The two suspects are still on the run and there is no trace of them, this was confirmed by the police’s public relations division yesterday afternoon.
The two suspects allegedly entered the mine’s premises through the main gate in a Volkswagen Polo with registration number: N7804S. They proceeded to block 16 (room no.7) where the paymaster’s living quarter is. They forced the door open and overpowered their victim, 27-year-old Liu Yiyu, who was asleep. The suspects allegedly threatened the victim with knives, tied him up and stole a laptop, two mobile phones, three watches, an external hard drive and N$12 000-00 in cash. The assistance of the public is highly required in tracing the suspects.
