Toddler loses life in car accident

A two-year-old girl passed away at the scene of a vehicle accident 2km from Usakos on route to the North on Saturday, 3 August.

The two-year-old Andrea Pawa Jason was the only one of eight passengers who passed away. A 34-year-old woman, who sustained serious injuries lost control of the Isuzu pick-up she was driving when she went around a gentle curve which resulted in the pick-up overturning. They were on their way to the North for a holiday. Among the serious injured were a 4-year-old girl, 5-year-old boy, 9-year-old girl and a 19-year-old girl. Two passengers, a 4-year-old girl and a 9-year-old boy escaped unscathed. The injured were taken to the Usakos state hospital for treatment. The body of the little girl was taken to the Walvis Bay Police Mortuary.
