Tourists don’t sleep or dine in Government offices

To market and position Namibia as a visitors and investment destination is not only Government’s responsibility.

Namibians must take collective responsibility along with the Namibian Government to turn visitors into investors. “They must come as tourists and leave as [potential] investors”, says the Minister of Industrialisation, Trade and SME Development, Tjekero Tweya. He made this statement during his keynote address at the official opening of the 2018 Erongo Business and Tourism Expo.

“Government is not the only partner. When visitors come to Namibia they don’t sleep in Government offices. They don’t dine in Government offices. They sleep in hotels and guesthouses and they dine in restaurants”, he said.
Adding Namibians must treat tourists with respect. “Good customer service is a way of showing that respect. Small deeds make a huge difference collectively. We must be a country where investors wish to invest”, the Minister explained.
“Leave a positive impression in the minds of our visitors so that they want to return as investors”, concluded Minister Tweya.
