Four transformers left Walvis Bay early Wednesday morning and are on their way to Katima Mulilo. Road users are advised by the Walvis Bay Traffic Department to be vigilant when approaching the abnormal load.
According to the Senior Traffic Officer, Mr Clifton Jacobs, each transformer is being escorted by its own two escort vehicles.
“All road users are advised to be vigilant and to drive slow when they approach the abnormal load. There is no police escort with them on their trip, but they are permitted to drive on the road.
There are visible yellow lights and they are being escorted by their own vehicles. It will take them approximately one week to reach their destination,” he concluded.
