Truck causes water pipe rupture

A heavy vehicle caused a pipe rupture in Hage Geingob near the intersection with 14th Road early on Friday. A work team of the municipality of Walvis Bay conducted repairs and water supply to this part of town could be restored.

Tracks indicate a heavy vehicle drove over the pipe and the sheer weight caused the tarmac surface to collapse and the pipe could also not withstand the weight.
Heavy vehicles are one of the main culprits when it comes to damage to public infrastructure like water lines, curbstones, road and traffic signs.
