Two Arandis residents go missing

Two residents of Arandis went missing this week, leading to widespread efforts to locate them again. At this stage the disappearances are not linked.

On Sunday, 17-year-old Prisma Uiras left her home after regular disputes with her sister over her cell phone usage. Uiras left when her sister went to attend church. Uiras was last seen wearing a blue pair of jeans and a maroon-coloured shirt. Uiras indicated to a younger member of her family she was leaving for Swakopmund and will not return. Her family could not trace her yet.

A day later, on Monday of this week, an employee of a charcoal manufacturer at Arandis, Mr David Viviers Smuts (46), also went missing. Smuts is light in complexion and was last seen wearing a grey jean, black shirt and a pair of black sneakers.

He too informed colleagues he wants to consult a doctor in Swakopmund and would be staying with a relative.
He was never heard of again. Anyone with information regarding the missing persons’ whereabouts, is requested to contact Deputy Commissioner Iikuyu at 081 246 4757, Detective Warrant Officer Jacobs at 081 335 3851 or the nearest police station.
