The three suspects who allegedly pulled a cash-in-transit heist in Swakopmund a week ago made a first appearance in the Swakopmund magistrate’s court on Monday.

Lineeekela Haiduwa (27), Gabriel Cornelius Tuhafeni (26) and Kandjimi Tangeni Elifas (23) were charged with robbery with aggravating circumstances.  They were apprehended by the Police very soon after the heist. They remain in custody and return to court on 5 October.
Two more suspects remain on the run. One of them, Nangolo Nepola, is believed to be seriously injured as the Police found a substantial amount of blood and teeth in the black Nissan Note which they used to flee the scene of the robbery. One of the security guards of the cash van, belonging to Southern Cross Security Services, was shot by the robbers. His colleague returned fire, presumably wounding Nepola.
A fifth suspect Malakia Shikongo Naobeb “Shakes”, who is also on the run, is believed to have fled to the Khomas Region.
